Abstract
The purpose of this research is to compare the morphological processes of both English and Jukun (Wapan Dialect, also called Wukari dialect), to bring to light their similarities and dissimilarities. The methods of investigation used in the work included observation and interview. The researchers based the observation on the city of Wukari and some randomly selected satellite towns and villages. Informal interviews were also used where several native speakers of the Jukun language (Wapan dialect) were informally interviewed. The research adopted an ecletic approach to morphological description of language where by three approaches complement one another because none of them can serve all purposes and the three models have different domains of usefulness. An interpretative method of analysis was adopted. The data were analysed side by side each other using the two languages. Their similarities were examined first before their differences. The areas of differences found in English language were first presented before those of the Jukun language. Some differences were found to be existing between both languages. It was also found that there are some similarities in the morphological processes of both languages.
